Creative Burnout, Huskies, and the Art of Taking a Break
There’s a rhythm to everything — even rest. And as someone who thrives on ideas, output, and impact, burnout doesn’t always show up as exhaustion. Sometimes, it’s subtle. The work still gets done, but it feels flat. That’s when I know it’s time to pause. My huskies are often the ones who remind me — they nudge the leash off the hook, reminding me to get outside, breathe, recalibrate.
Breaks don’t have to be dramatic. Sometimes it’s a long walk. Sometimes it’s turning off notifications and working on my camper. But always, it brings me back to center. To clarity. As creatives and entrepreneurs, we tend to romanticize hustle. But I’ve learned that protecting your energy is just as important as pursuing your goals. Rest isn’t a luxury. It’s part of the job.
